As part of our "Experiencing the World" multicultural programming, we are offering bringing Patino Vazquez of Los Sugar Kings north for a week-long residency. The week will culminate with two performances by Los Sugar Kings, his Latin/roots/reggae band. We are seeking a community or school partner for October 23 for our matinee (for both students and seniors), and in the evening, Los Sugar Kings will perform at the Colonial Theatre in Bethlehem.

Patino is a music educator and band leader who will lead assemblies for up to 100 students in an incredible interactive format, beginning with a powerpoint on Cuban culture and music, moving into a short solo performance, an interactive music portion and culminating with a dance workshop where all of the students can join in! Smaller classroom workshops will go deeper into Latin music & dance. Community workshops on drumming & dance are also available, as is a teacher workshop exploring Cuban percussion for music teachers. Email us to sign up your school. We will post further details about our public community workshops soon.
